![]() (One of my favorite parts of playing a Ranger is that only Rogues and Monks had as much freedom to explore without getting squished.) Tracking meant you could also check if MOBs were up, and my best days (in terms of feeling needed) was during Luclin/PoP, before instances for raids, when my job was to scout for raid targets - Innate Camo and Eagle Flight (or whatever it was back then) made Rangers ideal for getting into dangerous areas and checking for targets. (I identify strongly with that Ranger, and aside from trying a heroic character that I never played, I've never had another PC hit 50.) So I dunno what QOL improvements are in or out on a given TLP.īefore that, there were fan maps you could print out, but unlike an in-game system, they were easy to get lost using and didn't show your current position on the map - unless you had tracking. I don't know if this applies to progression servers, though, since they never appealed to me. There were also fan-made in-game maps, that SOE (back then) turned a blind eye to, before they started their own in-game map system (starting with LoY) that could still be used with fan-made maps.
